Abstract: Large 3D shape repositories are becoming available at present. In computer aided design, computer vision, pattern analysis, manufacturing, molecular biology and a number of other fields, 3D model retrieval [Jain and Zhang 2007; Rustamov 2007] is extremely valuable. Typically, each shape is firstly characterized by a shape descriptor. Then, an appropriately defined similarity distance between the descriptors sorts the retrieved models.
