The A-buffer, an Antialiased Hidden Surface Method

Abstract: Carpenter presents a method of constructing antialiased images in a method which allows transparency. If flavor, it is very similar to z-buffer, but subsamples pixels and maintains coverage masks to allow effective antialiasing.
